Tissa Wewa 저수지 및 Royal Pleasure Gardens과 가깝습니다. 사원은 스리랑카에서 가장 훌륭한 정교한 조각품이 있는 보물 창고입니다. 이 사원은 Anuradhapura 고대 도시에서 발견된 고대 건물의 거대한 Stupa와 석조 기둥이 있는 다른 사원과 크게 다릅니다. Isurumuniya는 기원전 300년경 Devanampiyatissa 왕에 의해 지어진 것으로 믿어집니다. 사원은 티사 웨와(Tissa Wewa)가 만든 갑작스러운 자연 암석을 깎아서 둥글게 만들어졌습니다.
